Standing over 2,700 feet and 163 floors high, this record-breaking skyscraper in downtown Dubai is the tallest structure in the world. Burj Khalifa has several open-air viewing decks and swanky lounges which offer splendid views of the UAE and the Persian Gulf. The highest lounge is located at level 154, and there is even a hotel at levels 38 and 39. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architects, this mixed-used development atop Dubai Mall is inspired by the Great Mosque of Samarra in Iraq. Disappointed

We booked our tickets for the Burj Khalifa in advance and chose a 5pm slot so we could enjoy the views in daylight and then watch the sunset. We followed the instructions on the tickets regarding what time to arrive — don’t do this! Arrive at least an hour and half earlier. We ended up queuing for over an hour just to go up, and then another long wait to come back down. By the time we finally reached the top, it was already dark. While the city lights were pretty, it was impossible to make out any real detail of Dubai’s skyline. Overall, a very disappointing experience considering our planned timing.

We booked the 124/125 tour for 11.30 we were told the queue time on arrival was over two hours. Then another queue to leave the towers to exit. Being from the UK booking a time usually means there’s not too much of a queue. We were forced to upgrade or miss our other planned activities. The upgrade for two adults to floor 148 and queue jump was £160 or AED750+. We thought this was very poor. The views are nice but the inside areas are not very exciting. Better just looking from another location at the Burj in reality.

Do not bother going up!

The Burj Khalifa is an amazing building and the view of Dubai is impressive, but I would recommend saving your money and just look at it from the outside which is truly astonishing. We paid around GBP100 to queue for over an hour and a half, eventually got in the lift, got to the top, looked at the view for 10mins, and then queued for another 40 mins to get down. Really, do not bother going up, it is a staggering rip off and not worth it.... Unless of course you are really into standing around in queues!

Amazing experience well worth it Just for the views. Best to go well before your booking time as finding the entrance is via Dubai Mall and a lot of walking is required. Queues can be long . Would go again
