Colourful & Traditional Port - Chaotic and Tasteless Meal!

Stopped by this port on a day trip from Marrakech with a group of friends. Pleasant walk from the drop off point to the port. Our tour guide advised us to have lunch in the open air restaurants rather than in the town itself. We ate at No 20 and we were not impressed at all. The fish was rushed and not cooked properly. The floor was wet, everyone was shouting, trying to attract customers and there were flies everywhere. The fries we ordered were stone cold so when we complained, one of the waiters took it from me and handed it to a couple sitting at the next table! We got a plate of freshly made fries but the rest of our order was forgotten and we had to remind another waiter. Very chaotic and I would advise that you avoid these open air restaurants and eat in the town instead.

Freshest of fish lunch at photgenic and atmospheric port grill cafe

Incredibly photogenic and incredibly fresh fish which can be grilled at incredibly cheap, rough and ready open air cafe opposite the fish stalls. From choosing and bartering a price for the fish, having them cleaned (and killed - I didn't realise the lobsters I had chosen were still alive!), and then taking them across to be grilled and presented to you at your table, with bread and water, the whole cost was ony about 35 Euros for an absolute fresh fish feast - two lobsters, three squid, three langoustine, and a large Bream. Absolutley wonderful, unforgetable lunch, in incredible surroundings. Popular activity for the locals, too!
