Deserted and not worth a visit
Unless you want to pay to visit the three attractions (Terra, Alif and Vision), this is absolutely NOT worth a visit. We were expecting to get a feel for how the City was during the Expo, but it was completely deserted and nothing else was open or working. The Surreal water and fire show was not operational, the Garden in the Sky was not working and didn’t look like it had been for months and the Al Wasl Plaza was closed and piled up with stacks of chairs and barriers. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed, all the concession booths were empty and even the ticket office was locked up. It doesn’t say on the website that it is deserted and closed in November, but it definitely was and was a complete waste of the taxi fee to get here.
