Built from mud bricks the same colour as the sandstone that swamps the desert landscape, these walled citadels were put up to defend towns from attack and have been featured in many classic films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and the Game of Thrones TV series amongst others. Take in the stunning rocky terrain as you drive through the highest path of the Atlas Mountains to where the southern desert begins to take over the landscape and you go in to the land of the Kasbahs .
You will be picked up in a comfortable and spacious 4x4 before beginning you set out upon the Atlas Mountains. Your driver and guide will point out all the key sights along the way, sharing their know-how and making sure you have a whale of a time with a bunch of tales. Once you reach the highest point of the mountains, you start to make your way down to the desert with breath-taking views along the way.
Head through the desert landscape towards the crumbling Telouet Kasbah, the former lavish Palace of Glaoui, built in the 18th and 19th centuries located on the former caravan route that linked Marrakech to the Sahara Desert. Finally, visit AĆÆt Ben Haddou, a truly remarkable collection of fortified citadels that is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the mastery of the original architecture of this settlement that still suffers damage in heavy rain and believe it or not, still houses eight families within its walls to this day.

Sahara Tours 4x4 offers private tours from such ancient cities as Marrakech and Fez, through the High Atlas Mountains and out into the Sahara Desert. Anywhere you would like to see, it is our pleasure to show you. We have new, comfortable, air-conditioned 4x4s for smaller groups and minivans for larger groups. It is well known that there is a lot of distance to be covered in Morocco so we recommend that you book a longer trip so that we can take our time, drive slowly, stopping any time that you would like to have a break and to take pictures. We can organize trips for any sized group - family, friends or on your own and can accommodate a wide variety of budgets. We are friendly and professional. We speak Spanish, French, English and Italian. Our wish is for you to enjoy a spectacular trip of a lifetime.

Our desert trip from Marrakesh to the Sahara was one of the best travel experiences of my life. Everything was flawless from start to finish, and I cannot recommend it enough. Our private driver, Mohamed, was simply exceptional. He was warm, respectful, and incredibly attentive to everything we wanted. He made us feel safe at all times, welcomed us with true hospitality, and handled all our little requests with patience and kindness. His car was spotless, comfortable, and he himself was extremely well-presented and professional. Traveling with him was a pleasure in every way ā if you decide to take this trip, ask for Mohamed! The excursion itself was breathtaking. Both hotels we stayed at were amazing: beautiful spaces, wonderful staff, and delicious food that truly reflected Moroccan hospitality. Everyone we met was friendly, generous, and eager to make our stay unforgettable. Spending the night in the desert was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The luxury tents were fantastic, the atmosphere magical, and the evening music under the stars made everything feel surreal. The young men working there were cheerful, helpful, and made sure we were entertained. Even the camel guides were incredible ā kind, patient, and always smiling. Everything about this trip was perfect. I have traveled a lot, but this was truly one of the most memorable journeys Iāve ever taken. I highly, wholeheartedly recommend it. And again: when you book, make sure you ask for Mohamed!

Our Dream Came True!
Wow.. Wow... WOW!! We (two adults and two teens - 18 and 15) have recently returned from a trip to Morocco and in between we took the Marrakech to Marrakech four day tour and can honestly say, hands down, it was one of the best trips we have been on. To begin with - a HUGE shout out to our guide Yousef - he was exceptional and we would 100% recommend him! He had the wonderful ability of being warm and friendly (chatting to my husband in the car for hours like two old friends) to being professional - we arrived everywhere on time, he was always ready waiting for us, he drove like we were treasured cargo and along with all this, he filled our journeys with so much extra details. We found out so many interesting facts and snippets on the culture, history and daily life, which in turn brought everything to life for us. Even the backdrop of Moroccan music as we drove was a nice touch. When we left the tour and carried on to the next part of our trip, we kept saying we missed him!! On the tour itself we stayed in a few different riads and none of them disappointed. each one was beautiful in its own way and was perfect for that stage in the tour. Dinners are all covered in the cost and they do not disappoint - each meal was three courses, really tasty traditional food and different each time. You just pay for any drinks you have on top. One tip I would suggest is ensuring you have plenty of smaller notes for tipping porters, waiters etc as it is not included in the bill. Also the lunches each day (which you do pay for) were around 10 euros a head and again nice clean and well run places and plenty of food!! One of the places I would like to mention specifically was the Sahara part. The luxury desert camp was breathtaking. The beds were so comfy and the little laterns lighting up the path was just stunning. Said arranged for us to have a private dinner in the sahara under the stars and it was like being in a movie - it has to be up there with one of the best experiences we have ever done. On the same night, a memory that we will treasure forever was dancing around the fire to live music. We all laughed so much and let loose and I can still picture my family's smiling faces full of happiness as they held hands dancing around. It was a truly special moment for all of us. At this point, I would like to give a special and huge thanks to Said. We were delighted to actually meet him in person as we had been in contact with him over the last five years since our original trip back in 2020 was cancelled due to COVID. I can genuinely say he has been excellent. Not only is he responsive, patient and a lovely person, but he also, unbelievably, honoured the deposit we paid back in 2020 for this trip. Such honesty and kindness goes a long way and he deserves an extra special recognition. I can honestly say there is not one thing i would change about the tour and full credit goes to Yousef and Said for making our longawaited holiday perfect in everyway. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making it so special and for giving us memories that will last a lifetime.
