This was a phenomenal experience. Way beyond my expectations! The last moose we saw was a bull moose which was what I was hoping to see. Chris is a fantastic guide who knows his way around. He is very professional and lots of great information.
Young’s Guide Service is where you need to go if you want to see some moose. You will be in very capable hands with Chris. Our excursion started pre-dawn. We saw many moose before the sun came up. Chris is very knowledgeable about moose and he knows where to go to see them. His years of experience are on full display. He truly cares about the animals and it shows. I was excited to see the moose and he seemed just as excited. We saw 13 moose on my trip! I even got to hear Chris use his moose calling talents. I had a great time and I highly recommend doing this tour. I plan on doing it again. Next time, I may add the boat trip to Mount Kineo because Chris mentioned the great new boat they bought. One more thing, it’s hard to beat Maine in the fall …. just beautiful.

We’d planned this trip months in advance and it was better than we ever imagined it could be. The owner, Chris, is one of the best guides we’ve come upon. He was professional, knowledgeable and extremely capable of finding moose. We met him early in the morning since that’s when the moose are active. We rode in his comfy SUV for hours traversing timber company land. He had his CB active to ensure we didn’t come upon any logging trucks unexpectedly. His ability to both find and spot the moose was incredible! We were passing an area with lots of uprooted stumps. He noticed one of the black piles looked different and sure enough, it was a moose. We saw a mother and her tiny (yet long-legged) calf, twin yearlings who posed for us a long time, plus many others. All told, we saw 11 that day! As the morning progressed, we saw fewer moose, noticing only one in our last 45 minutes. I was appreciative for our early start as late arrivals would be harder pressed to have the same experiences we witnessed.
Seeing a moose in the wild was on our bucket lists for ages. As it turned out, Chris's bucket for finding these majestic animals resets every day as his pure excitement in being able to share the moment with us was amazing. His knowledge of the area, the habits of the animals, the environment, and his energy about all things nature are a testament to his skill and dedication to educating his customers and creating memories that will last a lifetime and not just once the tour has ended. 10/10 would recommend any of Chris’s tours or activities!
No better way to kick off a day in Greenville, ME than with Young's Guide Service. We saw some beautiful Maine countryside and 4 Moose this morning. Chris was a very knowledgeable, fantastic guide, a 100% true and authentic Maine outdoorsman. Very enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend. ❤️🫎😊
