Recommend you take the VIP tour. It’s not expensive but gives just enough insight to ensure you don’t just wander around aimlessly. Fort is beautifully restored next to historic market. Buy your dates from the date market. This is the best place for dates and we found out too late!

Nizwa Fort is one of the many forts in Oman, but definitely one of the prettiest. The views and photo opportunities here are stunning, and the atmosphere is incredible. Walking around in the heat can be challenging, but there are plenty of shady spots to take a break. Don’t forget to try the food from Mrs. Ruqiya - it’s a delicious bonus to the visit!
