very big mall, with all sorts of stores and facilities you'd expect, as well as food options, etc. visited it as i was staying in the sheraton hotel too. if i had to choose a mall, i would choose the dubai mall, as it felt more high end, more interesting to see the locals having their coffee, etc.

OK...first.. malls are SO not my thing and, despite being a woman, I have totally zero interest in shopping as a hobby, so I would never visit one normally...but for this one i made an exception. For a start, Dubai is hot as hades, and a petrol heads dream...so not really a strolling city. Second, it has the largest Carrefour i have ever been in in my puff...and then there is just theeeee most crazy thing i have ever seen in a shopping mall.....An entire Ski resort with a luge, ice dogem cars, a huge ski lift and several pistes😲. On top of this...it being in the desert and all, where im just guessing, most folk dont own ski boots or salopettes, there is a huge emporium selling said items, gloves, goggles and jackets, to the parents of 11 year old boys so they can spend the afternoon here. It honestly blew my mind. After tearing myself away from all this winter wonderlandish amazement I discovered that despite its titanic size, the Carrefour didnt sell alcohol, and i had to exit the mall into the parking lot, enter some unmarked double wooden doors and enter the world of gigantic booze rooms galore. After queuing with all the Filipino and south Indian customers and having to show my passport I made it out and had to consult Google maps once again to find the taxi rank. If you are in Dubai you just cant possibly miss this experience.

This is a very well stocked mall, featuring lovely high end areas and options for lower budgets. The glass domes are impressive and there is a cinema, lots of food courts and indoor ski slope and winter games area. There is a dedicated metro stop.

Lots and lots of shops, my first Arabic coffee experience and who doesn't love a penguin running about in the snow! However, if you don't like being accosted by someone shoving a perfume sample in your face or a development project being thrusted upon you, then avoid the downstairs level!
