Wahiba Sands are a must to see in Oman. A real desert at only 2 hours from Muscat and 1 hour from Sur. Go there if you want truly understand the life of local beduins, meet the camels and watch amazing sunsets on top of the yellow/orange soft dunes. You can pitch your tent or stay in one of the numerous fixed camp. Avoid to go in the desert in June and July, the weather is really hot!

My first time visit to wahiba sands was truly an experience to remember. The food, ambiance and the view was worth every penny. Would definitely recommend to visit wahiba sands if one visits oman.
